However, the highest unmatched fifth card can break a tie. For instance, if two players tie for the ace, then the highest unmatched fifth card is the winner.
The pot is the aggregate of all bets made by all players during a single deal. This amount can be won by the highest hand of cards or by a bet that no other player makes.
In some variants, a special fund is established, known as the kitty. It is used to pay for new decks of cards. The kitty is divided among those players who are still in the game. The kitty is also used to fund the game. Normally, the dealer shuffles the cards, then cuts them up. Eventually, the shuffled cards are offered to the opponent for cut.
Usually, the player with the best combination of poker cards is the first bettor. A player’s hand is not revealed until the showdown, which is a conclusion of the game. Sometimes, a forced bet is taken, or a player is blind. Whenever a forced bet is accepted, the player must place the same number of chips in the pot as the player who originally anteed.
When a player raises, all other players must call. If a player is not ready to fold, he can raise, but not call.
